At Bassé Ibogaine, we provide clinically supervised ibogaine therapy for people recovering from opioid addiction. Our emergency-trained physicians oversee every step of detox and stabilization, helping you move safely from dependence toward lasting recovery.
Opioid addiction recovery with ibogaine is built upon proper aftercare and integration. This means embodying the insights you received and making the necessary changes for sustainable recovery. And it’s not meant to be done alone.
Bassé is unique in that we provide all our clients with our 30-day aftercare course, created by our Head of Integration and a pioneer in the field of psychedelic integration, Kat Courtney. This course provides daily somatic and neuro-supportive practices to help you ground back into your life after your ibogaine treatment and embody the shifts you experienced.
You will also have optional access to 1:1 coaching if you feel you need additional, personalized support during your ibogaine integration period. We recognize that ibogaine is not a magic cure-all – it’s a catalyst that requires profound personal commitment to experience lasting change. And we’re here to walk every step of the way beside you.

What makes Bassé unique for opioid addiction recovery?
- Founder with Personal Experience in Addiction Recovery: Our founder, Laura Shapiro, overcame a severe opioid addiction through ibogaine. Now, she’s dedicated to offering the same possibility to others through the power of trauma-informed, medically safe ibogaine treatment.
- Boutique, Low-Volume Retreat Center: Our center feels more like a sanctuary than a clinic, nestled in the midst of jungle wildlife, just an hour from the Cancún airport. We host a maximum of six guests at a time, and each ibogaine treatment is held privately, allowing us to offer truly personalized care.
- Scientific Oversight and Trauma-Informed Team: We offer unmatched clinical oversight with scientific advisory from the world’s leading researcher on ibogaine for addiction, Dr. Deborah Mash. All our clinical and therapeutic team members are trained in providing trauma-informed, compassionate care.
- Cultural Responsibility and Reciprocity: We partner with non-profit Bwiti Roots to ensure we are in right relationship with the Iboga plant and the tradition from which it originates. We plant an Iboga tree for every client we receive, and Audrey Jover, Founder of Bwiti Roots, serves as our Cultural Advisor.
